Member Spotlight: Meet Erin, Crochet Designer from Juniper & Oakes

This week, we’re featuring Erin, the crochet designer behind Juniper & Oakes.

Who is Erin, crochet designer from Juniper & Oakes?

Erin is the owner, creator, & crazy yarn lady behind Juniper & Oakes. She is a wife, mom of two wild boys and one baby girl, nurse, crocheter, hiker, reader, & drinker of coffee or hot tea while doing any of those activities. Her mother taught her to crochet when she was just a kid, and she has not put down her hook since!

Erin hosts crochet-alongs with her crochet community where the adventurous crocheter can learn new stitches and techniques. She likes to use interesting stitches in her designs to help you create beautiful items for your home. Lately she has been focusing a lot on overlay mosaic crochet.

Her most recent CAL, where crocheters are making a Mosaic Crochet Gingerbread Blanket, will run through Fall, leading up to Christmas 2024. The CAL hasn’t officially started as of the writing of this post, but the pattern is already going viral!

And while she is hosting this one on her own, Erin is known for hosting collaborative CALs. So if you’re a crochet designer looking to connect with other designers, get your business in front of more eyes, and grow your following, Erin is definitely someone you should know!

What do you do and who do you serve?

I am a crochet pattern designer who focuses on designing patterns with interesting stitches (lately: mosaic crochet) and teaching them to my community through crochet-alongs.

What is one thing you have done that has influenced the direction of your business?

In 2021 I ran my first crochet-along, and I have never stopped!

What inspired you to start your business?

The love of crochet & making a difference in the lives of my family by creating a crochet community.

What type of collaborations are you looking for?

I am looking for other designers to collaborate in crochet-along patterns together. I am wanting to connect with yarn companies so that we can mutually benefit each other financially.

What is your superpower?

Teaching mosaic crochet!

What is something in life that makes you smile 🙂?

Chocolate ice cream, and the sincere giggle of a toddler.
